Independent tool, not affiliated with the ATO
AUPayCalc.io is a free, independent calculator built to help Australian workers quickly see what a gross salary actually works out to after income tax, the Medicare levy, HECS-HELP repayments, and voluntary super salary sacrifice.
The calculator applies the published ATO 2025–26 individual income tax rates (including the Stage 3 tax cuts), the standard 2% Medicare levy, the Low Income Tax Offset (LITO), and the current HECS-HELP repayment income thresholds and rates. It assumes you are an Australian tax resident who has claimed the tax-free threshold on your Tax File Number Declaration, which covers most standard PAYG employees but will not match every individual payslip exactly.
AUPayCalc.io is not affiliated with the Australian Taxation Office, Services Australia, or any government body. We do not access, store, or transmit your salary information — every calculation runs in your browser. This tool does not account for non-resident or working holiday maker tax rates, investment or rental income, Medicare Levy Surcharge eligibility, or other deductions that can change your actual take-home pay.
This calculator produces an estimate for informational purposes only and is not tax, financial, or legal advice. Your actual tax position depends on your residency status, income sources, and personal circumstances. For an accurate assessment, check your payslip, your myGov / ATO account, or consult a registered tax agent.
Tax rates and thresholds change each financial year. If you notice figures that are out of date, feel free to get in touch through the contact details on our privacy policy page.
